Furthermore, wpa_supplicant as its name suggests it is a wifi management software in Linux environment. They are supported WPA WPA2 technologies. wpa_passphrase is a tool which we do not directly use as a tool ,but it generates pre-shared keys to authenticate on wlan0 (wifi interface).
